Welcome to my website!
Here is the new and improved version of my site. For many of you that know me, this site will serve as my scrapbook of links, videos, pictures, and everything I find interesting on the internet and life.
My Bio:
I'm Alex Holodak, I was born and raised in Old Bridge, NJ.
I graduated Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. At Rutgers, I was elected the President of the Rutgers University Democrats in 2009. I'm currently working as a Legal Assistant in estate planning for the Patel Law Offices in Iselin, NJ. In addition, I consult for SW Unlimited, which specializes in technology for people with disabilities. With SW Unlimited, we support the Veterans Administration, helping veterans utilize assistive technologies. Before that, I worked as the Systems Administrator for LJP International, a shoe design company based out of Edison, NJ for nearly 2 years.
With an entrepreneurial focus, at age 17, I founded my first business by forming PC Authority LLC. As an active participant in local civics, I ran for election to the Old Bridge Township Board of Education in April of 2006 at age 18. My commitment to community service led me to New Orleans to aid in Katrina Relief efforts through NJPIRG and Americorps during my spring break in 2007.
As President of the Rutgers Democrats, the largest political organization at Rutgers, I participated in an event with the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and then Governor, Jon Corzine. Later, we hosted an event with Governor Corzine and former President Bill Clinton which was hosted at the Rutgers New Brunswick campus.
Under my leadership, the organization launched a magazine and a website, doubled membership, participated in philanthropic efforts, and hosted many prominent speakers.
Backpacking and hostelling throughout Europe in the summer of 2007 and, subsequently spending three months in Asia has sharpened my world view. These different perspectives inform my decisions and opinions. These experiences have helped me to develop a cultural sensitivity that has served me well.
Currently, I am moving to Seattle in September to work, live, and eventually seek to advance my education further.
